Lilve García

My work addresses the unknown habitat that lies underneath bridges, highroads and city borders. The use of high - contrast photography either color or black and white highlights the dramatic situation of life in this areas. Allows me to communicate the raw and emaciated first impression when we look over those bridges. Is an instant reflection of that experience, the one I can immediately transport to the audience. It translates the drama, helplessness and disbelief about how may people must live day by day surrounded of surreal landscapes.
The concepts of unknown habitats, the relationship between ephemeral architecture, environmental impact, the city as a ghost and automatic body and the almost imperceptibly underworld that surround us are the main concepts that I explore and support my body of work.

Graduated in architecture at the PUCMM of Santiago, Dominican Republic, where also she studied artistic drawing and photography. Has completed several courses and workshops in film animation, painting, printmaking and installation at renowned cultural institutions.
