Linda Bee

I am an abstract oil painter based in Winchester, Hampshire in the South of England.

I find inspiration in the colour and movement in everyday activities. My artistic influences are Wassily Kandinsky, Kurt Schwitters and David Bomberg, as well as the Scottish colourists.

My passion for oil painting stems from my studies in London where I learned the infinite potential of colour mixing. Unlike acrylic the oils can be moved around, altered, and added to. I mix all of own colours from primaries to achieve a unique palette.

I studied Fashion design in Sussex and Gloucestershire gaining a BA followed by an MA in knitwear design.

Following a successful international career in fashion design, I now work from my studio in Winchester. I regularly teach classes in drawing and colour theory.

I have exhibited and sold at galleries across the country and regularly take part in Open Studio events. I have sold my work in shops including Dulwich Picture Gallery.
