Linda Jacobson
Linda Jacobson is a Los Angeles based painter whose work is nature based abstractions. Jacobson has recently exhibited at George Lawson Gallery in Culver City; Ruth Bachofner Gallery in Santa Monica; California State University Channel Islands Fine Art Gallery, Ventura; in addition to Los Angeles Municipal Art Benefit exhibition and the Bleicher Gallery, West Hollywood, in conjunction with the Getty Research Institute's Pacific Standard Time exhibition.
Jacobson received a BFA, Summa Cum Laude, from both Art Center College of Design and from California State University at Northridge. Jacobson continued her graduate work with pioneer abstract painter Lorser Feitelson who became her mentor. With Feitelson she studied in-depth modernism and classical composition. At CSUN Jacobson studied with expressionist Hans Burhhardt and art critic Peter Plagens, where she explored large acrylic stain paintings; some of her fellow art students were Peter Lodato, Michael McMillen, Jack Barth and Scott Grieger.
