Linda Wilder

"As an impressionistic artist, I paint with great
enthusiasm and abandon. I create 24 hours
a day...maybe not by holding a brush but by
seeing, thinking and feeling.
"With intuitive energy and the use of bold
strokes, light, and texture, I strive to capture
the mood and emotion of my environment. My
paintings appear vividly representational, but
upon closer inspection, one can see the intimate nuances and abstract
tendencies which I feel elevate and enrich my work."

Growing up an "˜air force brat', Linda travelled across Canada, and settled
in Alberta. Her creative ability was readily evident as a child and eventually
she was able to follow her destiny. Her education consists of training in Red
Deer College (Art &Design) and Uof C as well as numerous workshops with
acclaimed artists. Linda is a prolifi c artist and enjoys a variety of subject
matter and tools (her favourite being the palette knife). Living in Calgary
and painting fulltime, she has enjoyed many successes and accolades.
Recently, her painting "˜Sunwapta Falls' won the "˜Collectors Choice' award
at the 2010 Calgary Stampede Art Auction. She
is an active participant in the art community and
has shown in various galleries and juried shows.
