Lisa Sara Jenkin

Lisa Sara Jenkin is a mixed media artist from London, currently living and working in East London. Lisa studied for a BA in Illustration at Camberwell and achieved a Masters in Art Psychotherapy at Roehampton in 2015.

Lisa's art is a celebration of Life, Nature and the Human Spirit. Lisa draws creative inspiration from a broad range of subject matters including; Jungian Psychology, Western Alchemy, Art History, Winnicottian Theory, Abstract Expressionism, Symbolism, Archeology and World Music.

"In my art practice I am honoring my Ancestors. I associate the experience of using my full body, making broad, bold, wild, unconscious brushstrokes, with my mother's Sea Ferring Cornish lineage. The wild, raw, rugged landscape and the powerful, fierce, elemental sea are deeply imprinted in my soul.

The other side of my practice involves refinement, deep concentration, stillness, meditation, deep breathing. I can become lost in pattern, repetition, using a fluid delicate dark line, I am more controlled. I associate this with my fathers Indian lineage and the decorative arts of India. With the combination of these two opposing styles I find myself dancing between Chaos and Order."
