Liz Bullen

Currently based in CA, I started painting in Paris where I worked from 2003-2014. Paris - its art and fashion worlds - have been fabulous schools for me, and the hours spent between the Pompidou, the Musée d'Orsay, and the galleries of the Marais have certainly had great influence on my creative practice.

I have a particular weakness for the French fauvist Maurice de Vlaminck - his use of orange, the shifting into surreal color palettes - and Frida Khalo's colorful, vibrant, and floral-inspired style.

While abroad I participated in many group exhibitions with the collective "Transit Système" which I helped found in 2009. My artwork has been shown in both France and Japan.
