Lucas Lelieveld (The Hague, 1969) is a of paintings and drawing but not only. animation, installations and collages. In his work there is the suggestion of use of shades and colours. Also by showing the remains of the activities but not the actual people he creates spaces in which the feeling of ambivalence and uneasiness, or melancholia, seems to prevail.
Lucas Lelieveld is trained as a designer at the Royal Academy of Art in The Hgue and the Muthesius Fachhochschule in Kiel, Germany (1991-1995). He is a member of the society of artists Pulchri in The Hague as well as Arti et Amicitae in Amsterdam.
Lucas has also done work in commission for the North Sea Jazz Festival, the Ministry of Finance of the Netherlands and different museums. Lucas works and lives in Amsterdam.
