Michele Loubser was born in 1976 in Bloemfontein, South Africa, the eldest of five children.
Growing up in a conservative country where conformity was encouraged made her seek the eccentric and odd things in life.
She became intensely interested in the visual arts at the Technikon Pretoria where she studied Fine Arts, with majors in Painting and Black and White Photography under mentors like Carl Jeppe and Abrie Fourie.
After a brief visit to New York when she was 18, she fell in love with the diverse side of the human condition.
She reveived a diploma in Fine Arts in 1997, travelled and lived abroad for four years. In 2005 she settled in South Africa, where most of her time was spent on painting and drawing. She married in 2007 and is currently living in Johannesburg. In 2013 she started pursuing the art of photography again, this time in colour.
