Louis Lemée

I am a self taught artist who lives in Brittany France. I have been painting since I was 10 years old which means 47 years!

I have opened a gallery in Dinan West of France 3 years ago where I enjoy exchanging with the public and receiving feed back on my work.

I also often take part in Art Exhibitions in my region but I am now going to extend my horizon and travel all around France. My work has received several prizes, see below.

I am currently mainly working with watercolor has it is a mean I particularly enjoy. I make my own colors which enable me to really concentrate the pigments and obtain unusually strong colors.

I mainly paint trees. Whilst walking in forests I became aware of the strong influence they have on my feelings. How humble I feel next to an oak for instance. These giants who have lived through time with such elegance. For me it is as if we don't live in the same dimension.

The originality of my work is the size of my watercolors. When you walk in my gallery it is as if you are entering a forest. People often say that they can almost hear the wind in the trees.
