Luke Turton

I was born and raised in Solihull, a town in the West Midlands region of the UK, and I still live in Solihull today with my family.
Upon leaving secondary education, my life-path took a different direction from art but it was always something I had enjoyed. As an adult, I rediscovered my enjoyment of art and decided to begin drawing and painting again with the full support of my family. I began drawing and painting pictures from family photographs & drawing quick sketches whenever I had the opportunity, which led to appraisal by friends and family and that in turn encouraged me to do more.
In 2016 I was approached by a contact within Guide Dogs for the Blind Association, who asked if I would be interested in illustrating the front cover for a book of poems to be sold in aid of Guide Dogs. I undertook the commission and they were so pleased that they approached me to provide artwork for a second book.
I enjoy using most mediums and techniques. I don't have a particular favourite as I enjoy experimenting with my artwork.

I studied Art while I was at secondary school but I am mainly self-taught.
More recently, during 2014, I studied at the London College of Art and obtained a diploma in illustrating for books, which included units on working to briefs as well as using a wide variety of mediums and techniques.
