Lucas Bullens is a Swiss born artist based in London, specialising in the medium of photography.
Interested in transcendental states, Lucas’ practice revolves around exploring both the physical and metaphysical. Using the camera as an instrument, he seeks to extract the immaterial buried within the material. The mostly monochromatic subjects he presents are a minimalist yet intricate reflection of the world he feels and sees around him.
Lucas works with a multiplicity of materials, incorporating both still and moving images, however always keeping the manipulation of light at the core of his practice.
Earning an MA in Photography from the Royal College of Art in 2022, Lucas is an award winning artist and a part-time lecturer at UAL, London.
