Lucy Browne

Born 1979 Norwich now based in Bristol.

I use acrylic paint, collage and glitter and mainly work on canvas or wood.

Characters from story and experience are a constant theme, appearing as visual metaphors. I use colour and pattern to explore ideas and emotions connected with identity and the dynamics of the human condition.

I'm inspired by the language of painting but also draw inspiration from a greater visual culture; this includes film, folklore, fairytale and comedy, humour being an important aspect of my practice.
