Lyndsay Ohanlon

I was born in Scotland and brought up in a very creative household. I learned to draw and paint from an early age
taking great joy from close observation of my subject and trying to capture some special detail.
My family and I emigrated to New Zealand in 1992 and I have enjoyed developing my art in this country.
My focus is now on oil painting having previously worked with watercolour and acrylic paint.
A lot of my inspiration comes from the light and colours of this land and it’s flora and fauna. My garden is a constant joy for me-it is filled with colour and contrast -there is always a painting there for me.
I thoroughly enjoy the journey that painting takes me- always to somewhere I didn’t intend to go.

I am a completely self taught artist learning from experience and practice with different mediums

I exhibit regularly at a local gallery
I have also exhibited at local art markets
My work has sold to many national and international
collectors
