My artwork for the past 20 years has always been a process of self-discovery and release. To express my feelings and thoughts on a variety of subjects and situations, I find myself in. This with an understanding that everyone shares such feelings and thoughts.
I began meditation at precisely the same time I started creating my artwork. I believe that everything is in its perfect place all the time. If that place or situation is beneficial for us as individuals or society is our choice. I think of my art as me stopping and reflecting on our culture today, and then communicating those inner states and the history that formed that moment. Art gives me a place to find truth and understanding of the human condition and its conditioning.
In my varied and diverse approaches to making art, I have naturally gravitated towards expressionism and symbolism to capture moments in time. My current project, “Musical Journeys” uses VR technology to give visual expression to music at that moment. The performances are video recorded, and the VR musical journey can be visited in VR, allowing us to revisit the passage of the music frozen in time.
