Martha Duran

"I am a self taught painter and jewelry designer who loves discovering and creating new patterns and color combinations as the basis for my work. In my studio colorful figures, animals, flowers, fruits, abstracts, and a wide variety of experiments can be found at any time; all sharing a unifying, consistent and ever-lasting element: Color!

My work portfolios and series include compositions utilizing acrylics and oil. Constantly exploring and learning, I strive to widen my knowledge by engaging in experiments with canvas as the main vehicle to express my work.

My love of art and color theory comes from spending time at home with my Mother who would dedicate long hours to hand paint textiles and developed her creative talent for all things fashion. She was my inspiration to create and follow in her footsteps to continue the traditions learned. 
I was also influenced by the tropical surroundings of my hometown, where lush landscapes and idyllic vistas were a part of daily life. 

Currently reside in Florida with my husband, calling a small beach community home."
