Mary Burtenshaw

I create atmospheric impressionistic pastel and acrylic landscapes which are totally unique.
My acrylics painted on canvas are both impressionist and abstract using texture and light in order to convey the contours, atmosphere and space of the landscapes that inspire me. My pastels are softer, more impressionistic and very evocative
My paintings of the British landscape and European countryside are evocative and personal but nevertheless convey the mood and atmosphere of somewhere we have all been to.

I studied Fine Art in Norwich, UK and now combine my love of art with a career creating children's books and also illustrating them but want to be recognised for my Fine Art as well as my commercial work.

My recent and current exhibitions covered Oxfordshire, Berkshire, Hampshire, Gloucestershire and Worcestershire. I am also looking for new and exciting locations for future exhibitions.
