Matej Bednar

I am a young, emerging artist born in Slovakia. Living and creating art in more locations around Austria, Czech Republic and Slovakia. My work put in simple terms could be defined by words as expressive realism. I am mostly a figurative painter when I paint and draw, but I also design, illustrate, write and I do marketing for a few clients.

My inspiration comes from a sexual attraction, organic forms found in the nature, abstract metaphysical ideas and my own past experiences, as well as from dreams and personal goals.

I strive to find connections between chaos and order, female and male, warm and cold. In another words I look for the path between duality of good and bad (Taoism influence), while living life in a central Europe (Christian influence).
