Maxime Sognac

I consider drawing and art in general as an

element of transmission between different

generations, different epochs and different

peoples.The testimony of a way of life, a way of

thinking, a culture, a way.

To draw I center my work on sketches made with

ink-pen, I draw a line without discontinuous to

see appear faces, bodies, then if possible an

emotion. I try to push the understanding of

these characters, bringing color, I try to

create a universe that resembles them and in

which they can evolve.

By representing free characters, out of time, I

try to create a space of pause, reflection

around the beings and the things that surround

us and our way of apprehending them.
