Juan Mcarb is the nom de guerre of Tom Adair, a Melbourne born and based mixed media artist with roots originating as a graffiti and stencil artist. His signature style combines spray paint, stencils, 3D artworks on acid-etched mirrors, liquid resin, paint filled fire-extinguishers and neon lighting. His unique artistic style, combined with a distinctive tongue in cheek personality, epitomises his recognisably ‘Mcarb’ artistic expression which is now sought after by both private collectors and commercial businesses alike.
Throughout his career he has continued his artistic journey having created artworks for a wide variety of clients, with some of Mcarb’s commissions include Gingerboy restaurant in Melbourne, 50 Aspen Grove luxury accommodation in Queenstown, New Zealand, Highline Bar and Lounge in Warrnambool as well as being commissioned to do develop the art concept and paint original artworks for the super-club and restaurant, Ms. Collins on Melbourne’s iconic Collins Street. Mcarb's latest neon skateboard series is now being shown and stocked in Jardan Furniture in Australia.
His work at Ms. Collins has been his greatest and most extensive project yet, combining almost all of his artistic techniques including free-hand...
Mcarb discovered his artistic expression as a graffiti artist on the streets of Melbourne and was formerly trained in fashion design, before starting up his own fashion label in 2004 with two other friends. His creative vision saw Mcarb leave the label to further his career in interiors and homewares, as a creative director and product manager for well-known Australian design brands.
