Mehari Teshome

Background
Artist Mehari Teshome was born in the half of 1980's in the Land of Human Origin and a Symbol for African Colonial Resistance (Liberation)-Ethiopia. He was raised in the capital city - Addis Ababa, where the country's or East African Huge Open Air Market is located- Merkato. This opportunity leaves him to have access and observe societies all over the country with all their diverse manifestations, values and the place of him with in it. Supported with his basic knowledge and skill in Art, The Self- Taught Artist has gone through assessing and extracting human interaction with nature, the fate of society in the Digital Era and the values of Women in Life. That is why the Artist wants to depict and reveal how society is structuring and operating itself with in the version of 21 century.
The cyber Era and Its other side.
The Artist believes the Uni-Polar engulfing of innovations and ideas from unlimited source in a rapid manner and with a wide coverage. This has resulted in dismantling the values of African society including those with their "Organic Expressions." Examining these over lapping effects, the Artist has engaged himself with pointing out what those "vacuums "are in his work of Art

Mehari Teshome is self thought artist with strict academic tradition.He teaches himself basic skills and knowledge in fine arts such as drawing,anatomy,composition,art theory,art history and above all through many years exercising and studio visits of Ethiopian master artist he teaches himself painting to highest level.
