Gilles has studied art contemporary at the Ecole Superieure d'Art du Nord, he has developed a work approach to the subject of fiction inside domestic area. After graduating with honors, he enter the Fresnoy for two year.

He elaborates upon his movies the human’s relations with monitor’screen in "Trois huis-clos" (2007) and the installation "Arrêt des programmes" (2010). He broaches also small scales and the disasters subject tied with human’s emotional relations in "Calme et volupté pour une discussion de salon" (2011). In the movie "Lueurs d’une région lointaine" (2013) it is question of incomplete memories, obscure secrets tied of private places.
