Dan Shaughnessy Iv

Dan Shaughnessy is an American Metal Sculptor and Designer. Born in Norway and raised in Sweden, England and later Houston, Texas, Daniel developed an attraction to form, structure and abstraction. Eventually, this fascination became a search for artistic forms and understanding the qualities of metal. He would later attend the School of the Arts Institute of Chicago. This experience opened new avenues for exploration in metal sculpting. His apprenticeship under Mike Helbing and Boyan Marinov propelled his career, while he assisted on large scale public figurative pieces and eventually became a studio fellow.

Dan currently lives in Chicago and works between Chicago & NYC working in the sculptor communities on both public sculptures and privately commissioned pieces. In 2014, Dan began a series of lamps under the name, DSIV, that combined his love for metal sculpting and lighting.
