Michaela Konrad (1972 in Graz) is an Austrian artist living and working in both, Vienna, Austria and Santa Cruz, Tenerife.
Her work includes paintings, limited-editions of offset hand-printing, and experimental comic art projects.
She also makes Multimedia Art, for example for the Ars Electronica Festival in Linz (Austria). Her art has been shown in numerous exhibitions and has been purchased for public and private collections.
Konrad's style is reduced to the essentials. She normally works in sequences – although her work lacks linear narrative structures. She combines Pop Art´s “flat painting“ with the aesthetics of US-mid-century comic cover art. Contemporary history and science are very often the source of inspiration for her work.
Due to her interest in the phenomenon of time and space, science-fiction is one of the artist`s great passions.
