Milena Doncheva was born in Bulgaria in a family of artists. She graduated with a Master of Arts from the National Art Academy in Sofia, Bulgaria. Since 1999, Milena has exhibited her work in numerous renowned solo and group exhibitions in Europe, Canada and Asia. In 2006 she was the recipient of the National Competition for Young Bulgarian Artists and the Ministry of Culture of Bulgaria Awards.
2008 saw a move to Canada, where she resumed her European success with a series of group exhibitions in Montreal. This was succeeded by a solo exhibition in 2010 at The Recreation Art Gallery, Montreal.
Milena currently lives and works in Toronto.
