My art is inspired by many forms, most importantly I am driven to explore the depths in peoples faces and backgrounds.
I believe that the face gives us a glimpse into a persons past, and if we can see the whole picture, a better understanding of who that person is, whatever the story may be.
I have drawn from my imagination as well as a researched approach to many different cultures.
More recently I have begun to explore different mediums for example, pastels and paints using a limited pallet, so as not to detract from the subject. I have also been experiencing the complexity of life drawing, bringing my awareness to a greater understanding of form and movement.
The main breadth of my work is done in charcoal, for me black and white is the ultimate form of expression, they symbolize the alternatives of hope and despair to which mankind is forever subjected.
