Millie Woods

Panting has always been a form of escapism for me. Consequently, the majority of my works tend to reflect the colour of my emotions and the clarity of my thoughts at the time of making.

For Millie, the making of a piece is an artwork in its own right, from stretching the canvas to the actual painting. Typically painting wet on wet onto raw canvas, the paint sinks into the material, staining deeper than surface level. brushstrokes and colours are incisively chosen to respond with the work as it ever changes during the painting process.


Millie studies at the University of the Arts London, and continues to expand and explore her art-making process daily in the city she grew up in.
