Melinda J Humphrey

I was born on the Isle of Wight and lived in Hampshire until moving to the West Midlands when I was 10 years old. I have lived in various places throughout England including London and Yorkshire but am now living in North West Cumbria.
I am self-taught and bought my first camera when I was 10 after being encouraged by a family friend to take photos. My influence for taking black and white photos stems from this friend who mainly took their photos in black and white.
I follow Canadian photographer Mark Hemmings and take inspiration from his varied photos. I mainly take photos in natural light in black and white, observing patterns and shadows created by this and also natural patterns.
