Mirjana Petrović

My paintings and creations are fairy tales for adults with the themes that encompass current problems of our time.

Those fairy tales are my reaction to war and to environmental issues.
During last decade of 20th century I've created a few anti-war series that were my reaction to wars in Yugoslavia. Those series are: Monsters, Paintings Out of the Planetary Band, Chameleons, The Untouchables, Bad Girls and Bad Boys, In the Name of Flowers.

My intention is for people to confront tedious themes through the poetics that reminds people of children's drawings.

My painting styles also include photo realism.

Graduated from Academy of the Fine Arts, Sarajevo, 1988 and in 1991 acuired the status of independent artist.
