Maurice Mircea Novac

I consider my work to be an immersion into art history. I say this because I draw on my excursions into artistic expression from the ancient world to contemporary provocations. I explore a full range of classical themes including nudes, landscapes, still life and various techniques such as glazing, leaking, dripping.

I am most comfortable when I can merge figuratism, abstract metaphysics, surrealism and expressionism. Put simply, I would say my paintings are figuratism achieved through abstract and expressionist means.
