Moira Agius (b. 1991) is an emerging, multimedia artist and an Art and History educator. She obtained a Bachelor’s Degree (Hons) from the Faculty of Education at the University of Malta and is currently reading for a Masters degree in Fine Arts at the University of Kent, England.
As part of her ongoing artistic studies, Moira has participated in a collective exhibition entitled Transformation at the Wignacourt Museum Rabat, Malta (2014): in Divergent Thinkers at Blitz Gallery, Malta (2014) and at the Maltese Embassy in Belgium (2014) and was chosen to showcase her work on the Online Gallery of the UNESCO Arts Education Week (2014). Moira has also participated in a collective exhibition at Pop Gallery, Medway (2014) and has been accepted to participate in a collective exhibition at the Sevenoaks Kaleidoscope Gallery, Kent (2015).
Moira Agius’ multimedia work explores ways in which we can transgress boundaries, especially those imposed by society in order to limit our sense of freedom. Across a number of fields of knowledge, from genetics to political rhetoric, she investigates processes of transformation that are restricted by culture’s laws, doctrines and taboos.
