Molly Jane Phillips

I am a London based artist originally from Berkshire, UK with an academic background in Psychology and Art Psychotherapy.

Working spontaneously and intuitively, I delve deeply into the process of experimentation to connect further with my sense of the world around me and my place in it. I have always had a heightened sense of the world around me, intensely feeling and responding to what I feel as ‘energy’. Art has always enabled me to process and navigate the external world and explore my inner world, with different materials and forms allowing me to seek refuge within their containment.

I am inspired by the immediate, grounding and tangible qualities of the natural world as well as the unconscious and spiritual/energetic realms less known.Through my process of mindful connection, meditation, physical embodiment and intuitive response art to music, I seek to continuously explore and deepen my connection with life and I strive for my work to embody these felt experiences.

My MA Art Psychotherapy training has expanded my awareness around how art can facilitate healing, lending greater insight into the ways in which my images become embodied manifestations of different elements of my psyche and increasing my capacity for self...
