My work is varied in its exploration of textures, color and pattern as well as digital abstraction, where I concentrate on organic shape and color. I am Arab, Jewish and American therefore I am pulled by the political tension between East and West and drawn to aspects of Middle Eastern design, particularly the Persian rugs that I grew up with. My compositions use repeated pattern that I layer and mix with freestyle lines. However some recent work drifts toward abstraction. Some of my pieces reflect my experience as a woman and how the female body is objectified or idealized. I also use the female form as a shape only and integrate it with my love for pattern.
