About Nanna Lahn

In my paintings I investigate the corporate colonisation of nature. The paintings are scenic landscapes filled with an invasive growth of commercial logos. They could be visions of a nearby future where synthetic biology is being used for marketing. In some of the paintings it is certification trademarks growing wild among the other trees, placed there to reassure a spectator that they are looking at a genuine forest!

Each age has its landscape paintings, which illustrate our relation to nature. In our time a lot of people are on a daily basis more exposed to images of nature (through media and commercials) than nature itself. By using different paint and quoting from other graphic media I want to make visible the complex relation to nature that we have in this very man-made world.
