Natalia Bienek

I live and work in Krakow, Poland.
My art was influenced by bioart, organic abstraction, neurobiology and the aesthetics of laboratory photos depicting neurons. By transferring delicate forms and networks of nerve cells into gilded canvases, I try to capture the beauty and potential of the human mind.
The paintings from the 'Neurons' series were created at a difficult moment in my life, at a breakthrough stage of self-development, so it can definitely be said that they are the material effect of many years of Art Therapy. I also embarked on a spiritual quest, using creative expression as an alternative to religion.
I paint my 'Neurons' in meditative concentration, creating new connections between the body, mind and soul. For me, these paintings have healing power and bring hope for recovery.
