I love what I do! Creating art for me is about capturing both 'Moments in Time' and the beauty and emotion that surrounds those special moments.
Each of us have people we love and life experiences that create those moments that mould us and shape us into who we are.

When I paint, regardless of the style I may choose to best portray that moment or emotion, my whole emphasis is on creating a work that reflects you, and sometimes even me.
There are two quotes from famous artists that have impacted me greatly. One was in 1917, from a well-known American realist painter named George Bellows, who said: "It seems to me, that an Artist must become a spectator of life".
Secondly, another by Vincent Van Gogh who said
" ... a good picture is equivalent to a good deed".
When I heard those statements, they both resonated so much with me. I find myself constantly watching and observing everything like 'a spectator' on the side-line as it happens before me. These quotes really helped to explain a few things to me. I am not so strange after all!
My inspiration comes as I take in the motion and emotion of the atmosphere of the world around me. They say "imitation is...
Having drawn all through my life, I had quite a portfolio. On the strength of this I was offered a position as a trainee in a Sydney-based advertising agency. This meant attending the prestigious and very challenging School of Graphic Design in Sydney where illustration and other fine art skills were critical to success.
After four years, I then was offered the opportunity to manage an art studio for another Sydney ad agency. During this time I really grew in my love of creating for clients. Seeing the enjoyment and connection with my art on a clients face brought excitement and much satisfaction to my life!
After having time off to have a family, I decided Fine Art and I belonged together. I taught art for a number of years, helping people to discover the gifts within themselves and to appreciate the beauty around them. However, over time, the desire to just paint on my own full-time overtook me, and I haven't stopped painting since.
Being a professional artist has been a career I have felt honoured to have been chosen for, and to be a part of. I feel I have the opportunity to impart joy, beauty and gratitude through my work on a daily basis.
