Nathalie Chaulaic has that singular talent for placing mosaic in a modern context and within contemporary artistic practice. She creates unique black, gold and coloured artworks and bespoke wall panels with material effects.
She uses unexpected materials to create velvety black textured mosaic artworks by combining noble materials such as gold and colored glass tiles with the eggshell which, through a subtle play of reliefs and finishes, undulates with light. She fits fragments of materials together to form one component of a larger work, revealing meaning and harmony.
