Nicole Le Groumellec

I was born in 1951. My father was Breton and my mother was Chinese.
I travelled all the time during my youth thanks to my father's work. I lived in many countries and I chose to settle in Brittany with my family in 1976.

Subjects that inspire me are around me everyday : people, animals and landscapes. Everyone and everything around me is a source of inspiration.
Maybe in each of my paintings, you will find melancholic aspects or expressions. That is my "trademark" and also probably my own view of the world.

My techniques are mainly oil on canvas and oil on mounted paper.
I also like to use watercolors when relevant to the topic.

I have been a professional painter since the 90s . My painting is figurative in the sense that I am in front of my easel, every day. This phrase by Pablo Picasso suits me well : " Painting is just another way of keeping a diary " . Therefore, I offer you my moments of doubt and of joy.

I hope that my paintings won't leave you indifferent.
