I was born in Newcastle Upon Tyne, UK in 1954 ... seems like only yesterday, but sadly, the passage of time can play tricks. Having said that ... and I am now seventy, my passion for life and in particular creating images, remains undimmed. After a successful career as a commercial photographer, I am now concentrating on my own work with renewed vigour. We all need to re-calibrate every so often and I am now focussed on realising my own vision of the world ... free from restraints of others.
During my professional career, I travelled widely and worked on behalf of many of the worlds leading brands. They included TWA, Sainsbury's. I was interested in pursuing illustration but after borrowing a camera from college to photograph a local Circus, there was no turning back. I spent many hours on the road with Gerry Cottle's Circus shooting anything that moved! I was inspired by a book called 'Circus days' by American photographer, Jill Freedman. With the help of legendary art photographer Dermott Goulding ( a tutor at the college ) I gained confidence. He was ...
