Alan Campbell

Alan is a photographer/artist located in Northern Ireland whose style is best described as documentary fine art. He is a self-taught photographer and enjoys experimenting with different styles and techniques. As well as digital photography, particularly the 24mm field of view, he enjoys analogue 35mm photography and infrared. He is particularly attracted to black and white imagery as these images appear to be more timeless than colour pictures. A lack of colour in a photograph often accentuates the light and shadows. Backlit subjects and dramatic shadows are brought to the viewer’s attention much quicker in black and white images.
