Rachel Townsend

I am an American self-taught artist still exploring my style. I have had this talent and passion since I was young, and won multiple awards at an early age. In college, I further delved into my passions by obtaining degrees in Art and Fashion Design. Upon leaving college and getting a corporate fashion position, I found myself day dreaming about my paintings more and more.
Having no formal training in painting, my work is sporadic and depicts the exact moment and emotion I am in. I find inspiration in my faith, travel, the overwhelmingness of our amazing planet, and in the human form. I am interested in architecture, reflections, and color saturation. I like to use symbolism in my work to express my ideas or emotions. I always paint in acrylics as I like to work quickly. I paint either on canvas or cardboard and in multiple scales, often large. I find many of my ideas for art in scripture and personal reflection. I love sharing my talents with others and enjoy doing commissioned art.
