Georgina Love

I've been painting for nearly 30 years, working in the tradition of the old masters. This method allows the oil paint to be "shown off" with glowing colors, layers of transparent paint or chunky textures. Still life is my favorite, however, after seeing some trompe l'oeil, I decided to give it a try and am self taught in that discipline. The challenges of creating convincing illusions and textures is great fun. Oil painting allows me to create whatever I want in a medium that can be made to do anything. I just love it! And I'll paint just about anything! From zebra to lizards, money to octopus, whatever might catch my eye or imagination is fair game.

My early lessons were from a classically trained artist. After those classes stopped, I was on my own. School of hard knocks!
