Peter Allan

Born 1965. Place of birth Hong Kong.Scottish artist working mainly in Oils, woodcuts and ceramics.Recent work is now bringing together previous developed work in mixed media techniques and interest in still life subject matter. Inspiration for the previous series of works have come from the Dutch Masters and early works of Peploe and surrealism. These works have developed through years of painting of still-life and Scottish landscapes in a variety of media. I like to combine media; using print such as lino cuts and monoprints collaged together with oil paints and drawing media. Lino and wood cuts have recently lead me to wood carving sculptures using similar mark making techniques.
