“In The Telling” actually means words are not welcome here, even though the
photographs are prompted with titles. In the game of poker, a “tell” is something that a player unconsciously does, such as turning their head a certain way each time they get a good card. An experienced player can spot the tell and use it to good advantage. The photographs that most attract me, that take me, are societal tells, telegraphing the intended trajectory of the world we have made for ourselves to exist in. Each tell is necessarily different, because each photograph is a different player, but all are in the same game.
