It is always hard for me to explain any given painting or graphic work; on the other hand,
each work is part of a general approach, of plastic research linked to an evolution of my
personality, my reactions and emotions in the world in which I exist.

Artistic expression is for me a well being, a necessity, and a release, but also and most
of all a refuge. Physical and instinctive, this painting is a voyage into an imaginary universe
where my roots (the Périgord in France, an ancient land, one of the cradles of humanity) are
at home; thus my attraction in particular for the mineral world in a very profound sense, both
elementary and strong. Evocations of stone, earth and water are the essential components of
my plastic expression.
Search for a language, a certain authenticity through these traces, these patterns etched in matter,
these contrasts in the relationships of tones and ruptures of forms, this sobriety or perhaps the
nudity of certain surfaces in contrast with the realism of a shadow of an element, for example,
the development of accidents of matter, serve me as matrices and are for me the occasion to
affirm my liberty as an artist without conformity to external dictates. Each canvas is a new adven...
