Patrizio Conforto

I was born in Sondrio in 1971; I live and work between Sondrio and Milan.
My work aims to combine technique, materials and forms with a steady experimentation that excludes any limits or borders.
I want to distance myself from the contemporary because I consider it a conditioned and contaminated space.
I am focused on models that are always recognizable as timeless.
My personal ambition has led to the development of the Projects:
- “2018 Clean”, the research for supports devoted to the cleaning of memory/ thoughts fragments, which would scrape the naturally floating images has led to the kitchen sponges as a support for painting;
- “2019 Fear”, which represents my need to show the fear both as an inevitable break and as a moment of absolute change and not a limit for our freedom.

I am a self-taught artist and I began to paint at the end of 1985.
