Patricia Sanyal

I am an English artist and I love to walk in the beautiful Dorset countryside gaining inspiration from the lights and shadows as they move across the landscape inspiring me to paint in colours both bright and soft. I always carry a sketch book with me so that I can draw anything that excites me whatever it might be. I paint in acrylics and love the bright colours and texture I can create whether by splattering, dribbling or by traditional painting methods. I am inspired by Dufy,
Matisse and Franz Marc. People say my paintings make them smile and describe them as happy and soulful.

I had private tuition from William Chesterman who was educated at the Ecole Des Beaux Art and who was a friend of Raoul Dufy a Fauvist and French master artist.
I am a qualified teacher who has taught art in schools and on a one to one basis with private clients. I also used art as a therapy with people who had mental health problems.

I have exhibited in local art exhibitions and have sold to private collectors in Britain, America and China.
