Paul Wang

I am a creature raised in a amalgam of nature and technology and my work exists central to those polarities. My work exists as a partnership between human and machine, without scale or time, molecular and universe together. Generative art is an apt term, starting with Georg Nees and evolving with Vera Molinar, Katherina Brunner, Jared Tarbel and Anders Hoff.

Pattern, anthropology, whimsey, serendipity of the random, pendular motion, centrifugal forces inform my journey. Creating simple patterns that evolve into the infinite. The functions which are the code of life. I create almost daily, something.

i follow the tradition of Karl Blossfeldt and Santiago Ramón y Cajal. Using art as a brush to understand science and visa versa. I am a connector between ideas that are disconnected but are integrally connected. My work is generative and algorighmic, but only in the cadence of nature and its basic patterns - spiral, meander, explotion, packing and branching.
