Pepe Solis

Born in Barcelona, Spain in 1958, currently living in a small island of the Mediterranean named Menorca, an art destination. In 1986 I had my first solo exhibition in Barcelona and have since then become a persistent aspirant to the imagination as a form of reality. I work with simple tools such as pencil, watercolor and paper to develop my personal work. My drawings, full of wit and imagination, convey us to a place where the artist sets up a game between art and life. And in this field, I suggest women and men that reflect the weak sense of our existence, through their dialogues full of poetic meaning and subtely.

Pepe Solis (Barcelona 1958) graduated in Fine Arts at the University of Barcelona in 1982 and has a PhD in Humanities from the UPF (Barcelona), with the thesis “On the metaphysical image”.

During the last thirty years, his been part of the cast of three important Art Galleries in Barcelona - Galeria Ciento, Galeria Victor Saavedra and Àmbit galeria d'Art -, with whom he has exhibited in important national and international fairs like Arco Madrid (Galeria Ciento) and Art Wynwood Miami Basel 2015 (D. Price Art). His images have come part of private art collections in Norway, United Kingdom, Australia, United States of America, India, France and Spain.
