Born: Mobile, Alabama 1974. Lives and works in Miami, FL. My work blends current social, political and cultural themes by utilizing the web and other media outlets to gather imagery and ideas, which I then sketch and construct on canvas. I explore these themes visually using traditional oil and illustration techniques. The work I produce focuses on the relationship between positive and negative space, balance and color.
My North Korean series investigates the relationship - similarities and differences - between communism and capitalism by representing both ideologies on canvas. The vibrant use of colors and bright hues give these pieces a pop art look and feel.
