Phil John Perry

Phil John Perry is a British multidisciplinary artist whose practice spans painting, sculpture, and fashion image-making. He is internationally recognised for creating the sculptural headdress worn by Beyoncé for Vogue in 2018, yet painting remains the central language of his work.



Through layered surfaces, architectural fragments, and symbolic natural forms, Perry explores themes of memory, protection, queerness, and transformation. His paintings inhabit a space between ruin and renewal, drawing on personal history, folklore, and imagined landscapes to create quiet, contemplative environments charged with emotional resonance.



With a background in hands-on making, editorial production, and creative direction, Perry brings a distinctly tactile and sculptural sensitivity to the canvas.
